This is a video of a 1 megawatt Fuel Cell Power Plant at California State University, Northridge, in Los Angeles, CA. The power plant has a reformer that separates hydrogen from natural gas and then feeds the hydrogen into a fuel cell, generating electricity. The plant also recovers the heat generated and uses it for domestic heating on campus. In the future, some of the carbon emitted will be sequestered in a sub-tropical rainforest that is under construction. While at present this power plant still uses fossil fuels (the natural gas is needed in order to extract the hydrogen from it), in the future the hydrogen will be generated either from landfill gas, or else it will be electrolyzed using wind, solar, geothermal, wave or hydroelectric energy. What is most important and exciting about this plant is the fact that it is using fuel cells–touted to be the future of electricity generation–today, and they are working seamlessly on a large scale. www.elperfecto.com The original video shows a group of experimenters from Canada that are making Hydrogen in the form of HHO using electrolysis. Something goes terribly wrong. I found it humorous and couldn’t resist trying to make a remix of it. I wish I could have been in the room when it happened. I also like to experiment with hydrogen, so I admire this group for trying something new. They also have other successful experiments. Fuel cells may soon generate electrical power for all sorts of devices we use every day. Learn more about fuel cells in this video from HowStuffWorks.

This clip’s purpose is to show-what NOT to do-Ran this HHO fuel cell on 12 volt -worked well. Ran at 150volt & cell drew more current than internal connections could handle. Wires got red hot & ignited HHO gas. Now we use larger gauge wires, fill HHO cell to the top(less HHO gas inside cell)install a pressure release valve & any new test is done with open top fuel cell(HHO will dilute into air-harmlessly). i learn from my mistakes. i show successes as well as failures-check my HHO fuel cell Modifications youtube to see how this gear was made safer
